Enugu State Indigene Receives International Recognition from U.S. Leadership Institute

ENUGU SSG BURIES MUM, NOVEMBER 30TH, 2024

The Secretary to the Enugu State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia will on Saturday, November 30, 2024 commit the remains of his late mother, Mrs. Grace Ogoegbunam Onyia (nee Achime), to earth at her country home in Udeji village, Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area.  According to a burial programme released by the family, Mrs Onyia’s final journey will begin with a service of songs at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Udeji Village, Amechi Awkunanaw, on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 5 pm.  The funeral service will hold at Amechi Football Field, Kenneth Nnamani Road, Udeji village, Amechi Awkunanaw, at 11 am, followed by interment. Reception of guests will be at the same venue.  Also, there will be a thanksgiving service on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Amechi Awkunanaw, at 10 am. NUJ ENUGU STATE CHAPTER COMMISERATES WITH SEC MEMBER, OBIANUJU EZEH OVER MOTHER'S PASSING

The leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, led by Comrade Sam Udekwe and NUJ State Information Chapel, led by Comrade Hyginus Odo, were today at the wake keep in honour of Ezinne Marylilian Ogechukwu Ezeh; the beloved Mother of Obianuju Ezeh who is a Staff of the Ministry of Information and Communication, and doubles as SEC member of the Council and Secretary to the State Information Chapel. At the funeral wake, NUJ commiserated with the bereaved family and friends, urging them to take solace in the Lord as late Mrs. Ezeh lived a commendable life when she was alive. FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION WITH THE NIGERIAN INDIAN PROFESSIONAL

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr Nasir Sani- Gwarzo mni, has reaffirmed his dedication to advancing technical skills development through the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). Represented by Dr Isa Abubakar, the Director of ICT department of the Ministry held discussions with the Indian Professional Forum (IPF), led by Mr Kailash Gaijar, to address implementation challenges and how to scale up the initiative. Dr. Gwarzo reiterated the Ministry’s focus on preparing students for industry demands through skill acquisition. "We aim to create a system that equips students with the competencies needed for the workforce," he stated, citing insights from India’s exemplary skill development centres. Dr. Gwarzo emphasized that technical and vocational education  training (TVET), remains a top priority in Nigeria's education reforms.

PROLIFERATION OF FAKE DIPLOMATIC AND OTHER UNAUTHORIZED NUMBER PLATES-CORPS MARSHAL ORDERS IMMEDIATE CLAMPDOWN

Malam Shehu Mohammed, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps In line with its proactive approach to enhancing national security, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has directed the immediate clampdown on confirmed cases of fake diplomatic and other unauthorized number plates on vehicles plying Nigerian roads. Investigations revealed that these number plates were fraudulently produced by suspected criminals and were neither issued by any FRSC production plant nor by any State Motor Licensing Authority. The identified fake and unauthorized number plates include, but are not limited to: DIPLOMATIC NUMBER PLATES NYCN PEACE AMBASSADOR NAUS CYMS UN-UNITY 01 UN-AMB NANS Etc. To halt these criminal activities, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has approved immediate enforcement across all FRSC formations to ensure the arrest and impoundment of vehicles displaying these plates or similar fraudulent plates. This partnership is set to boost local production and accessibility of vital assistive devices, enhancing quality of life and independence for thousands of Nigerians with disabilities.
