..._Hails Mbah for LG financial autonomy_ The Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Jude Asogwa, has distributed 20,000 bags of rice to residents of the area for the Christmas celebration. This was even as he hailed Mbah for the full financial autonomy enjoyed by the 17 Local Government Council of the state, saying it had enabled them to execute projects and take initiatives that impact the lives of the people. Asogwa, who flagged off the rice distribution at the Nsukka Township Stadium, Monday, said the gesture was in keeping with Governor Peter Mbah's inclusive governance model that ensures that no one is left behind. ENUGU STATE CONCLUDES ODF CERTIFICATION IN IGBO-ETITI LGA

By Esther Ikwunne The Enugu State Task Group on Sanitation (STGS), with support from EN-RUWASSA, has completed the Open Defecation Free (ODF) certification across 244 communities in Igbo-Etiti LGA. Confident in a positive outcome, the National Task Group on Sanitation (NTGS) will be invited for final validation, advancing Enugu State’s goal of achieving ODF status by December 2025. The exercise which began with a desk review at the Igbo-Etiti LGA headquarters in Ogbede, involved the LGA WASH Department and the UNICEF State WASH Facilitator. Seventeen STGS members drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies were organized into teams, each led by a WASH officer, to conduct thorough sanitation inspections across communities, institutions, and public spaces. DEVELOPMENTAL STRIDES: IPAC PAYS ENUGU EAST BOSS A VISIT

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Enugu East LGA paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor, Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, to commend him and the Governor on their quality leadership and service delivery.  The IPAC delegation, led by the APC chairman in Enugu East LGA; Mr. Nnaemeka Agu, expressed satisfaction with the Mayor's developmental strides in various sectors, including health, education, and rural electrification. Hon. Mrs. Chinelo, a party leader, thanked the Mayor for his educational support programs, particularly the payment of WAEC fees for all SS3 students in public schools which are daughter benefited from.
