Undergraduate Students Can Register for 2026 UTME and Direct Entry, JAMB Clarifies

JAMB official logo The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has clarified that students already enrolled in tertiary institutions are eligible to register for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry, which allows them to enter directly into the second year of their program. This was in a clarification signed and issued by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, emphasizing that candidates must declare their existing admission status during registration. The disclosure is mandatory for record and regulatory purposes and ensures that no candidate holds multiple admissions concurrently. The Board also emphasized that failure to disclose a current admission status constitutes an offence. Although its system can detect prior matriculation records, any candidate found to have deliberately concealed such information risks losing both admissions.
