Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, charges civil servants to recommit to more efficient and impactful service delivery, as the state works toward achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).   Speaking at the lecture marking the 2025 Civil Service Week Celebration held at the Unity Hall Government House Asaba, themed “Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future,” Governor Oborevwori described the civil service as the backbone of government and emphasized the need for innovation, discipline, and dedication. Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to public service reform through the MORE Agenda, emphasizing human capital development and staff welfare. ENUGU GOV'T TO PROVIDE HOMES FOR AGUOWA, UGBO LAWRENCE FAMILIES AHEAD OF SLUM REDEVELOPMENT

_…This has never happened in Nigeria – Dr. Chukwunwike_ The Enugu State Government has announced that the Tomorrow Is Here Housing Estate, now nearing completion in Enugu, is a major housing project designed to acco mmodate families from the Aguowa and Ugbo Lawrence communities. Governor Peter Mbah selected the two slums to be the first beneficiaries among over 20 slum areas in Enugu urban earmarked for redevelopment in line with the city’s master plan. The first phase of the estate which consists of 103 buildings has 206 units of two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, with solar-powered boreholes already in place, ensuring a steady supply of potable water and providing comfort for residents while the slums are rebuilt. This was made known by the Commissioner for Housing, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike during an inspection tour of the estate on Thursday. …_as Ministry of Education partners local governments on phase 2 training_ As part of the sweeping education reforms introduced by Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, the Enugu State Government has announced ongoing intensification of training for more than 18,000 public school teachers with phase 1 already concluded. The training is a preparatory move ahead of the resumption of Smart Green Schools across the state, set to begin in September 2025. This was even as the state government stated that it would be partnering with local governments on intensive  training of teachers on the phase 2 programme which would soon commence.  The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ndubueze Mbah, disclosed this at a seminar held over the weekend in Enugu. GOVERNOR MBAH APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF NEW LEADERSHIP FOR ENUGU STATE FOREST GUARD

The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointments of Colonel Dan Didiugwu (rtd) as the Chairman of the Enugu State Forest Guard , and DCP Olamitisoji Akinbamilayo, PhD (rtd) as the Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guard. The appointment of the Chairman of the Forest Guard Board, which is subject to confirmation by the Enugu State House of Assembly, and that of the Commander of the Forest Guard, which takes effect immediately, are part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and professionalize forest and environmental security operations across Enugu State, in alignment with its commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and natural resources.
